چکیده

Low-volume manufacturing remains a challenge, especially for parts that need to be injection-molded. Freeform injection molding (FIM) is novel method combines elements from direct additive (DAM) and (IM) resolve some of the challenges seen in low-volume molding. In this study, we use design science approach explore suitability FIM low volume injection-molded parts. We provide an overview benefits limitations traditional IM discuss how DAM indirect (IAM) methods, such as soft tooling FIM, can address existing drawbacks short series production. A set different was identified assessed using science-based demonstrate incubate solution faced production with IM. This initial process innovation followed by refinement, involving optimization processes. Finally, “cross-case” analysis conducted framework context, intervention, mechanism outcomes generate insights about generalizability results. It concluded lead-times, start-up costs freedom versatility scalability allow manufacturers bring products market faster, more cheaply lower risk, maintain relevance these through easy customization adaptations once they have been launched.

Investigation of effective parameters on fabrication of alumina parts by low pressure injection molding (LPIM) method

Low pressure injection molding (LPIM) method in this paper is investigated as a method of forming alumina parts. This is one of the methods of making engineering ceramics with complex shapes and high dimensional accuracy. In this method, a binder system (paraffin wax + carnuba wax) was used as a plastic agent for easy formation of alumina particles. Different parameters such as feedstock temper...

Dynamic of Taking out Molding Parts at Injection Molding

E. Ragan, J. Dobránsky, P. Baron, M. Kočiško, J. Svetlík, Technical University in Košice, Slovakia Most plastic parts used in automobile production are manufactured by injection molding. Their quality depends also on taking out molding and on the manipulators for it. Task of this contribution is to theoretically describe a transport of molding at taking out after injection molding in relation o...

A Systematic Methodology for Accurate Design-stage Estimation of Energy Consumption for Injection Molded Parts

Today's ubiquitous use of plastics in product design and manufacturing presents significant environmental and human health challenges. Injection molding, one of the most commonly used processes for making plastic products, consumes a significant amount of energy. A methodology for accurately estimating the energy consumed to injection-mold a part would enable environmentally conscious decision ...

Outstanding features of powder injection molding for micro parts manufacturing

When powder injection molding first appeared on the market, it was very well received for the potential it offered. However, the market did not grow as expected at that time. In recent years, the perseverance of manufacturers in this field has borne fruit, and today, the market is about 10 billion yen. However, looking at the market, one is still painfully aware of how low its recognition remai...

Wax-based binder for low-pressure injection molding and the robust production of ceramic parts

In this paper, a wax-based binder was developed for low-pressure injection molding of very fine (0,4 μm) average particle size alumina ceramic bodies. The major component used in the binder mixture was paraffin wax. The process of binder removal from the green ceramics presented several difficulties especially when the ceramic powder was very fine, and the pieces had large cross-section. The pr...
